Terms of service

These terms cover liftdue.com and the liftdue app, run by Helios One Oy (Finnish business ID 3596623-5, "we"). By using liftdue you agree to them.

Short version

  • The lists are built from public government records. Check the linked record before you act on a row.
  • Use the lists for your own business. Don't resell them.
  • When you bring up a building's record with an owner, quote what it shows, with its date, and never suggest liftdue or an agency sent you.
  • The trial needs no card, so it can't turn into a charge by itself.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe, and you can cancel anytime.

The service

liftdue shows elevator companies a list of buildings in their territory, built from public records. In Texas: elevators more than 60 days past their inspection due date in TDLR's file, or due in the next 60 days. In New York City: buildings with no current-year test report on file, or an open DOB violation. Each row links to its government record.

liftdue isn't affiliated with or endorsed by TDLR, NYC DOB or any other government agency. It isn't legal advice.

Public record data

We build the lists from the records as the agencies publish them, and leave some rows and names out, as About explains. Agency files can have errors and can lag real events, so a row can be wrong or out of date. A past due date in an agency file can just be late paperwork. Where the data comes from says what each record does and doesn't prove.

If a row looks wrong, tell us. If our copy is wrong, we'll fix it, usually in the next update. If the agency's record is wrong, only the agency can change it.

Your account

  • Sign in with an email address you control. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you.
  • You can invite teammates. They act on behalf of your team, and you're responsible for what they do in liftdue.
  • Give us accurate details, and tell us if you think someone else got into your account.
  • How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

Trial and price

  • Trial: free, no card, 14 days. Until billing opens, we keep extending trials, so none ends before you can pay. Giving your email to download a file also opens a free trial account.
  • After billing opens, when a trial ends without a paid plan, downloads lock. You can still open your list in the app.
  • Price: $349/mo per territory. One territory is one 25-mile radius in Texas or one New York City borough.
  • Founding price: $199/mo, locked for 12 months, for the first 10 companies.
  • Billing: paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe, by Helios One Oy (business ID 3596623-5). Your card is entered on Stripe's own page.
  • Cancel anytime, in the app's billing page. Your plan stays on until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.

How you can use the lists

You can use what you see in liftdue for your own business, for example to find buildings and plan who to contact. You can show an owner the record for their own building. You can keep using files you downloaded for your own business, even after you stop paying.

Please don't:

  • resell, republish or share the lists as a data product, or give your login to another company (invite your own staff, including contractors who work for you, as teammates instead);
  • scrape liftdue, overload it, or try to get around its limits or security;
  • use liftdue to mislead building owners, or suggest that liftdue or any agency sent you or backs you;
  • use the names in the lists to contact people about anything other than that building's elevators and escalators.

You're responsible for how you contact owners and for following the law when you do. The compliance page has a plain summary of the rules we found.

We won't name your company as a customer without your OK. The underlying public records aren't ours. Anyone can get them from the agency. The liftdue site, app and the way the lists are put together are ours.

No warranty, and limits

liftdue is provided as is. We work to copy the records correctly, but we can't promise that the records or our copy are complete, accurate or current.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, like lost business or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if that's more.

Ending

You can stop using liftdue at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or a security issue stops us. If we ever close liftdue, we'll email account holders at least 30 days ahead and refund the paid time you can't use.

Changes

When these terms change, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters for your account, we'll email you before it applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
